Meet Amber From Our S7 Team

I joined Search Seven in March with very little experience in digital marketing. After 3 months with the team I have already learnt an incredible amount and I have amazing mentors in Emma and Maddi. I have already had the best time at Search Seven and I can’t wait to learn even more!⬇ Find out a bit more about me below! ⬇

What started you out in a career in Digital Marketing?

After graduating university with a degree in Politics and International Relations, I knew that I did not want to work in politics. I started looking into what other careers were out there, stumbling across marketing and finding a position as a Social Media and Marketing Intern for a catering company.

What was your most recent role and what did you enjoy about it?

My most recent role was as a Social Media and Marketing Intern; within this role I helped to run their Instagram, create an internal communications newsletter and to write short blogs for their website. One of my favourite parts of this role was working with the kitchen at Gymshark to help plan and shoot a seasonality calendar!

What attracted you to the role at Search Seven?

Whilst researching the company, I discovered that not only do Search Seven donate 7% of profits to charity but they also have worked with Chestnut Tree House. A charity that my family and I have raised money for over the years. It felt a bit like fate!I also admired that they matched their team’s independent fundraising efforts which gave me a push to finally sign up to a charity skydive - which is taking place this August!

What’s a work-related accomplishment that you’re really proud of?

I am quite proud of completing my degree from home and in such strange circumstances! At the beginning of the pandemic the university gave little support as they were trying to set up online learning platforms. Once they were set up, it felt like we were guinea pigs in this online learning experiment. Although all of our lecturers tried to make it work the best they could! To come out of it with a 2:1 felt like quite an achievement.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Britney Spears - no idea why, I was obsessed with her when I was about 7 years old. Even asked if I could shave my head!

Are you a dog person or a cat person (or neither)?

I am definitely a dog person! I have a black Labrador called Gracie-Lou.
